Here is a bit of a synopsis for you. Isaiah and Rachel meet in a rough part of town at a drag race. Rachel is in desperate need of an escape from her life and being behind the wheel of her beloved Mustang seems to clear the cobwebs and centers her mind. Isaiah is in desperate need of cash and decides that this is the best way to get some easy cash. When they first meet, it is frustration galore. She won’t listen. He is too bossy. But as things go south fast, the two of them need to rely on each other to survive the night. When Rachel is threatened, Isaiah will do whatever it takes to protect her, no matter the consequences.

Tina’s Thoughts:

I freaked out when I remembered this book was coming out. I had loved the other stories in this series (Pushing the Limits and Dare You To) and could not wait to read about Isaiah. I was surprised when Dare You To came out and Beth ended up with Ryan. In my head Beth and Isaiah would be together when the first book came out. But alas, it was not meant to be.  I love the chemistry and constant tension between our beloved characters. Rachel is naive in so many things yet opinionated in about most everything. She has a complicated family life, a life that is a lie and constantly chocking her with obligation and unhealthy expectations. Isaiah is a protector by nature. You see it in the relationships he had with Noah and Beth. Right off the bat he is trying to protect her from herself. When she wants to participate in street racing, he warns her to leave. When things go south and she is accused of screwing over Eric, the dangerous street racing master, Isaiah takes it upon himself to settle the debt and protect Beth, no matter the cost. They are both so opinionated and I love that about their relationship. It progresses so well. I was constantly drawn in deeper and deeper to their story and couldn’t wait to see how things would end. I was for sure not prepared for the ending and for that I am grateful. When you have read as much as us it is hard to find material that catches you by surprise within this genre. It is a must read! Read the series in its entirety and enjoy this wonderful series!!

Lynne’s Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book! It was an incredible distraction from my miserable desk job 🙂  I really enjoyed Isaiah and Rachel’s relationship.  While they sort of fell victim to “insta-love,”  I still really liked how it was their differences that made them whole as a couple.  I am a firm believer in the balance, and these two really created a balanced relationship even in their trials.  By the end of the novel, I was convinced there was no two people more perfect for each other.  I think Katie does this really well.  I remember thinking the same thing about Echo & Noah, Beth & Ryan.  I start out thinking, “Oh great another couple that really shouldn’t end up together.”  Then by the end I am in love with both characters!  I am also a fan of any male with tattoos and piercings, so it wasn’t a shock I loved Isaiah.  This series really is great, especially if you love series that bring back characters from previous books.
