Lynne’s Thoughts
As I began Concealed, I thought it would be a nice story about a girl with a troubled past and the hot cop that helps her. While this was true, Victoria adds plot twists that I didn’t see coming. I find writing this review is troublesome because I honestly don’t want to give away any of the plot. Reading it without any hints makes the reveal so much better. Ultimately, know the following: Sydney is a great lead character. She is kind, strong, and really believable in her angst, especially for her situation. Her daughter, Faith, is an absolute doll. All of the secondary characters are incredible and exactly what you would expect in a small town. Lastly, Sherriff Wade is a dream. He’s a sweetheart, he loves Faith, and he’s a cop and a total babe. The novel starts out as a dark night years ago, and turns into a thriller that has you asking yourself, “What the heck is going on??” If you enjoy mysteries this is a great one.

When I first started reading this book, I thought I had the plot figured out. I felt like it was another once story like so many others I had read. Alas, I was pleasantly surprised at the plot twists and turns that happened as the story progressed. I enjoyed Victoria Michael’s writing and expected a nice story with a little suspense and romance thrown in. The deeper I get into the story, there were plot twists and a shocking surprise that made me stop with my mouth hanging open. The love story between Sydney and Wade is adorable and well paced. From the initial attraction to the pie auctions, the heart felt sweet moments that made me smile and the attraction they can’t deny, this love story is realistic. The relationship between Sydney and Faith is one that warms your heart and shows you the love a mother has for her daughter and the lengths that a mother will go through to protect the ones she loves. It is a story full of choices and consequences and all the love in between. The small town characters round out the story line and create a setting that brings forth a tale you can’t help but enjoy!
