Synopsis

Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.

Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.

As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

Lynne’s Thoughts

There are some books that you never want to end.  This really was one of them for me.  I was in a book hangover for a couple days afterwards.  Which as a blogger is really unfortunate because there are ALWAYS more books to read.  But I really just couldn’t.  I never imagined that I would love this book as much as I did.  Outside of Jase being a total babe, the real win for me in this novel was Teresa.  She absolutely has had struggles in her life, but she just felt so normal to me.  Oftentimes in the new adult genre, the heroine is so broken that the everyday reader struggles to identify.  Tess comes from a normal, loving family.  She’s had dreams and lost them.  She has experienced heartache and loss, but she just remains so incredibly relatable.  Tess felt like someone I would be friends with.  Which made me root for her so much more.  I don’t know which book god Jennifer sold her soul to, but the woman creates the best heroines.  They are strong, funny, relatable, and just incredibly real.  I mean, geez Katy Swartz is dating an alien and I still feel like she could be my next door neighbor.  While the drama and angst of new adult contemporary novels is never something I want to see go away, the refreshing breeze of reality that Armentrout brings to her stories is a must.  I have yet to miss one of her novels and I doubt I ever will.  Be With Me is probably my favorite of her contemporaries to date.  Tess comes in as a strong second favorite heroine after Alex Andros.  And Jase, well he just needs a category of his own.  While aspects of Jase are not all shiny and pretty, he just somehow wiggles his way into your heart and refuses to get out.  If you have never read a Jennifer Armentrout novel, you’ve been living under a rock.  If you’ve yet to read this Jennifer Armentrout novel, well then you are missing one of the best….and also still probably under a rock.

Tina’s Thoughts

Oh Jennifer! You have never disappointed me. I loved this book. There is something about getting to see the lives unfold of characters that were introduced in another novel that just makes me smile. Almost like a dream that picks up again and doesn’t quite end. I loved Jase and Tess. I mean their story is so sweet and filled with emotion. Let’s start with Tess. That is one strong woman. Her dreams were shattered with a torn ACL, which I can say from personal experience sucks.  She is functioning in Plan B hoping that Plan A will come back around and be fulfilled. She knows what she wants and will fight for it. Despite her past pain and demons, she has grown into a woman who wants to live and experience life. Now for Jase. Yummy. Jase was one of my favorite secondary characters in Wait For You. When I found out this was his story, I squealed (in a totally 13 year old girl way. no shame). He is charming, flirtatious, stunningly gorgeous and knows how to satisfy a girl’s sweet tooth. I loved their history and friendship which allowed for their relationship to grow in a unique way. Despite their ups and downs, their passion was always on the verge of explosion. I mean a little gasoline and BAM inferno. The hot moments were rivaled by the sweet moments as well. Jase understood Tess in a way that no one else could. He was her rock when things got hard and held her hand in the sadness. He was her defender and lover. Le sigh. Jase has his own demons to battle, despite his seeming perfection. Yet there are not two people more perfect for each other! There is drama and heartache but the laughter and love seems to make it all ok. I would have to say that this is a must read for anyone who enjoys Jennifer’s books or a good contemporary romance. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book of the series.
