Blair is determined to stay on course. Her reporting career is waiting for her if she can just make it through summer on the island.

Justyn knows not to get attached to tourist girls breezing through town for only a season.

Maggie wants to cherish her last few months of summer freedom. So what if she has to keep a tiny secret to make sure everyone around her stays happy?

Reid doesn’t have time for romance. His new business must succeed, no matter the cost.

This summer everything is about to change. All those carefully laid plans might shift faster than the tides. When these four start spending time together, the island nights get hotter than the sun-drenched days. Trying to stay untangled and unattached is easier said than done when the one thing you want is standing right in front of you.

Tina's Thoughts... A review for you

Written in the Sand is an incredible story that follows the intertwining stories of four people, set in the idyllic small coastal town, where anything is possible. When the story begins we meet Blair and Maggie, two best friends who have just graduated from college and are spending their last summer together before reality sets in and they have to go their separate ways. Maggie convinces Blair that they should answer an add to house sit for a family for the summer months, ensuring a place to stay and spend some time together and relax before their adulthood is solidified. When they arrive to the sleepy town, they fall in love with the house and begin their quiet summer. After a month, both of these girls are itching for something more and they are invited to a a local 4th of July bash. When they are arrive, the old ladies of the town decide to play match-maker and Blair and Maggie meet Justyn and Reid, two local guys who are cousins running a boat making business together. What starts out as a summer of no entanglements does not last and relationships are formed. But the real question is, what will happen when the summer months run out and the girls leave the boys behind?

I loved the premise of this story! It was a summer romance that delves deeper. The characters were fantastic. I loved how this book is told in four POVs. That seemed like a lot at first but both Foster and Craft are able to seamlessly transition from one POV to another, adding depth and more context to the story unfolding. I loved being able to constantly see everything through each person’s eyes and determine what is really going on below the surface. It had a personal touch that allows the reader to flit from one character to another, like sitting with a friend and hearing their side of what is happening in the moment.

I have read some books with simultaneous love stories occurring and it is difficult to do. Often times one story line has more attention than the other and the reader connects more deeply with one couple over the other. That is not the case in this book. Maggie and Reid had an instant connection and they dove into their summer affair. Blair and Justyn had a rough start yet pulled through. The drama is well written and well paced. It is never overwhelming with so many characters. It seems like one couple will be doing well and then the other is having problems. It allowed for a steady presentation of romance, conflict, new love, and fun!

This book made me want to jump on a plane and find the Carolina coast and settle in for a while. I loved the sleepy little town and the way that it made everyone slow down and savor life. Blair and Maggie went to spend their last real summer together, never anticipating what life had in store for them. The town embraced them and love bloomed deep! It was such a sweet story filled with the right amount of angst and the right amount of romance and passion. Written in the Sand was a story that I loved and an incredible book to add to your shelves!

about the author

Written in the Sand is more than fifteen years in the making. Tucked away in boxes and buried deep on hard drives, pieces of Maggie and Blair’s story sat untouched for years before the authors rediscovered the work in progress. They knew it was time to revisit the island and give Maggie, Blair, Justyn, and Reid a summer to remember.
