I despise Erik Winter.

He’s arrogant and cruel—a man I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy—and by some twisted turn of fate, he’s my new Olympic gymnastics coach.

I’ve had to contend with gruff coaches in the past, but Erik is far worse. His stern demeanor complements a body built for intimidation, and his reprimands come from a mouth so cunning, I know it could strip me of my defenses—if I let it.

Though each of us would love to be rid of the other forever, we are bound to each other by need and necessity. I’m his rising star, his best shot at proving himself to his critics. And without a coach, I have zero chance of winning gold in Rio.The easiest way forward would be to wave a white flag and make peace with the man I’ll be sharing close quarters with for the foreseeable future, but he is intent on war.

Fine. By. Me.

If he pushes me, I’ll push back harder. If he wants to test me, to play with my head, I’ll show him just how many boundaries I’m willing to cross. Because I know it’s not a choice between winning or warring—not if you can have them both. At the end of it all, I plan on leaving Rio with gold around my neck and his icy heart in the palm of my hand.

tina thoughts a review for you
IIt seems as though the sweet and flirty writing style of RS Grey has taken a turn into a sultry new direction that is sure to fog up the windows. The Summer Games: Out of Bounds is quite different from what I was expecting. Sure I knew she mentioned it was her sexiest book yet, but what I read was something so different from Grey’s usual fun loving stories. This book was brimming with raw magnetism and passion. I loved it as much as I hated it. Don’t get me wrong, this book was brilliant and I will recommend the crap out of it. But I found myself frustrated and so connected with the characters, constantly wanting to run interference or just plain smack them upside the head. When you read this book, there is an angst that claws at your heart. It will kick you down but keep you coming back for more.Brie and Erik are two very head strong and beautiful characters. Their chemistry is sizzling and their interactions in the beginning are enough to foreshadow at some hot and heavy before the end. I loved the constant push and pull. The relationship, to me, seemed toxic at first. But the more you dive in and learn about these two, the more you begin to realize that their stubbornness is creating constant movement and pulling. When that “toxic” relationship is threatened to the core, something changes and foundations shift.

There is something so raw and primal about this book. It is sensual to be sure, but there is something about transforming your body into a machine that will take you places. Brie uses her body to take her to a new level in the Olympics. It attracts attention from those looking to find winners in the Summer Games and from eyes like Erik, who are drawn to her for a whole different reason. Brie is a well written character. She is a balance between a woman striving to achieve her dream and a girl who has fought so hard to get there. I loved her confidence and grace. She is smart but still so naive. Erik is the perfect match for her and their connection is apparent from the very first chapters.

If you are wanting to get into the Olympic hype, this series is not to be missed. Brie and Erik will twist you up in knots as they tug and pull at each other. This story is a new side of Grey and one that will definitely draw more readers in. Moments will shock you and others will having you counting down the minutes till the Olympic torch is lit. Do not miss this one!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
