Synopsis (from Goodreads)

An unexpected affair leads to mind-blowing harmony in this Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.
Jason is sick of living in his rock star brother’s shadow. So when he ships off to Sea Breeze, Alabama, he’s looking for a much deserved escape and a chance to blow off some envious steam. Falling for the local bad girl was definitely not the plan. But as the new duo enjoys some naughty fun in the Alabama sun, Jason learns that even though Jax is the musician in the family, he’s not the only brother who can rock someone’s world.

Lynne’s Thoughts

I have found all of Abbi Gline’s novels extremely entertaining and this one is no different.  I will say that if you haven’t read the previous six books, do it first!  While each novel has different lead characters, having the back story of this tight knit community is really important.  I LOVE seeing how all the other couples have progressed in their relationships from marriage to babies.  It is like living life with friends!

Misbehaving was a bit of different read, in that neither of the characters felt like the typical “good girl” or “good boy.”  While Jess and Jason came from different backgrounds, both were kind-hearted and a little messy.  Jess comes from a poor background with a history of crummy boyfriends and partying.  Jason is the overlooked and misunderstood younger brother of a rockstar.  Both of these character types I’ve seen before but not together.  I genuinely enjoyed that both Jess and Jason had their own issues to deal with. This made Jess feel stronger but also made her vulnerability feel more real.  Jason didn’t just show up and save her, he had to fight for her.  Jess wasn’t just a poor girl looking to escape her situation, she worked hard to overcome her circumstances and didn’t see Jason as a way out.  Both characters felt very noble within their mess.  While some of the angsty situations they had to deal with probably could have been alleviated with simple honesty and good communication, they’re 20 year olds.  And as a twenty-something, I can honestly say we don’t really know how to communicate well when we are hurting.  Just For Now is still my favorite Sea Breeze novel, but I am very pleased to say that this one comes a close second! I can’t wait for #7! I have a feeling it will be Krit’s story 🙂
