NO LIMIT is written in the same style as all the other LP Dover books I have read. They are a quick read filled with a good amount of plot, sexy characters, and a fun new way to see a situation that you may or may not have read before. This book takes you into the belly of the beast in Las Vegas, where lies, murder, and euphoria are the norm. Our two main characters are racing the clock in order to save women from being murdered and discover who the true evil is.
This story starts off running and doesn’t let up. It is fast paced and keeps you going till the end. Whether it is the action packed case or the growing romance, there is always something to latch onto and draw you in. This book is a quick read and just enough of a story to distract you till the end. LP’s books (at least the ones I have read) seem to focus more on the adrenaline and romance than the heavy emotion of a story. Not to say that there are unfeeling characters- there are just more moments of excitement and swooning than tears and pain. I love being able to read her books and get distracted for a while. They always have what you want as a reader without too much baggage to weigh you down.
NO LIMIT takes the reader on an adventure with Jason and Aylee as they attempt to solve a growing murder case before another victim goes missing. This book does a great job of taking the reader into the underground high class world of gambling, one filled with danger and no rules. Both Jason and Aylee are such strong and brilliant characters. These two are seasoned law enforcement officers and they both play the game to win and bring justice to the victims and their families. Jason is cocky and brilliant. Aylee is smart and sexy. When you put these two together on the pages of this book, there are many moments of sweet, moments or sexy, and many moments of humor and excitement. I loved how these two characters interacted. They worked well together as a team and both brought many positive qualities to the table. In this story they are truly equals, both able to fight to justice in unique and powerful ways.
This story has one of LP’s signatures- a high adrenaline story. This book plays out live an action movie or like one of my favorite crime solving TV show. There is something that draws you in and takes you on a wild ride. I loved how both main characters are equally strong in this book. They are both trained and dangerous, willing to do whatever it takes to bring justice and save lives. The situations our two main characters find themselves in are intriguing and sometimes terrifying. I loved seeing them commit to what needed to be done and the ways that they continued to fight the bad guys. Jason and Aylee are total bada$$es and watching them interact and sneak around was wonderful!
The romance in this book added to the story. It was a bit of instalust but most stories are these days. Despite that fact, these two are fiercely protective of each other and the click very well. Their chemistry is perfect and I loved how they give and take in their new relationship and partnership. This book is filled with sweet moments and sexy moments between Jason and Aylee. I enjoyed how their love story unfolded and seeing what happened after the case. I am forever a hopeful romantic and this book hit all the marks in spades!
If you are looking for a quick, fun, and exciting read, then check out NO LIMIT. This story creates a world of high stakes that will draw you in and keep you guessing till the end. I am excited to see more from LP and this series! I love her Gloves Off series and seeing a bit of cross over from those characters was icing on the cake for me.
