I was so excited when Kat Rixey entered the series and could not wait for Beckett to meet his match. Lo and behold, these two are a sexy powerhouse couple and their love story was the perfect and natural next step in the series! I loved how everything continued to develop until the explosive moment when everything that has been building throughout the series finally clicks into place. This series is one for the books and a series that romance lovers will want to read!
As with each new romantic plot line in this series, we have two characters who are perfect for each other. Kat and Beckett are both strong willed, filled with determination to see this mission through to the end. They are both passionate about what they are doing in their own unique ways. I loved getting to delve into these two characters and learn more of what makes them tick. Beckett has been a strong pillar throughout the entire series. He has been shrouded in mystery and I was so excited to finally get a glimpse into his brain, to understand why he reacts the way he does, and what his past was like. Learning even more of who he is under the surface made me love him even more. His silent brooding personality took on a whole new meaning, one I appreciated and respected.
Kat has been mentioned before in the series and I always wondered what the Rixey sister would be like. Nick and Jeremy are so different from each other and I wondered where their sister would fall on the spectrum. Kat is confident, smart, and beautiful with a take charge attitude. Her love of family is equal to her love of justice and doing what is right. I loved seeing more of her personality and understanding where she comes from. When you put these two head strong characters together things can be explosive- in both a good and a bad way. Their chemistry is off the charts and their passion has the ability to burn. These two could destroy one another or create a powerhouse that will change the direction of the series.
I loved getting to see more of the mystery unfold in this book. Throughout the entire series I have been trying to piece together what is happening and where the truth lies, playing detective alongside the team. The epic conclusion has been building for so long and everything seems to continue to twist and turn till the very end. With the addition of Kat’s resources and knowledge, the team is able to make headway into what happened and what needs to take place. There is a good amount of mystery, adrenaline, and excitement woven through the pages of this book! I loved seeing how things escalated and the direction the team went to find the truth. This story is the perfect conclusion to the series. I loved Kat and Beckett’s love story but I think it was made even better by the overall conclusion of the story the stretches across the entire series!

Why? All they did was fight and annoy the shit out of each other. Where had the term of endearment come from?
