Falling for Danger is hands down my favorite book from Chanel Cleeton. That title was originally given to French Kissed but this book blew me out of the water. This story has so much more than I expected. It is as good as the first two books in the Capital Confessions but takes a different approach to the world of DC and politics. We see the the lies, horrifying truths, and shocking reality of what people will do to cover up their past sins. This story shows another ugly side of the political world that stuns you. I was hooked from the beginning and could not stop reading till I knew what happened in the end.

Dayum girl! Chanel can write suspense! This story differs from the other in the series because of the fact that there is so much suspense and intrigue. You don’t know who to trust or what is happening. At times you are waiting on bated breath to see what happens to Kate, wondering if she will make it through life threatening situations or if this is the end. Add this element to incredible writing and fantastic plot development and you have a stunning finish to an incredible series.

The theme of family is paramount to this story. If you have read the first two books in the series, we so much of Kate’s sisters and learn even more about her parents, the horrible Senator and his wife. I loved seeing the two sides of family- the wonderful and the ugly. There are bonds that cannot be broken, no matter the damage, and then there are some that can never be saved because of the betrayal and weakness of the bonds from the beginning. It was shocking to learn the family secrets and to see those consequences unfold. Chanel does a great job of weaving us in and out of what has happened in the past, the secrets that have been spilled, and the consequences of those actions in the present and future.

Kate was an interesting character in the first two books. At times I hated her. She is so driven and single-minded in her goals that she almost destroyed her relationship with her sister. I was so angry with what she did but then I didn’t know why or who she was at a deep level. I decided to hold my final judgement till I learned what made her tick. When the story started to unfold and you begin to understand what makes her react and live how she does, things make sense. She is broken, lost, and sad. She is fighting for justice. She is a warrior. And every warrior needs a side kick. We will call him Harry the Hero (it is a plot twist that I do not want to ruin so for this review he will be known as Harry the Hero). Harry swoops in and saves the day! A man who has intimates details of the illusive facts that Kate has been chasing. There is mistrust between them and a passion that cannot be ignored. That passion is magnified by what is happening and the uncertainty of their fate. Harry and Kate make the perfect team. Their determination to see it through and to protect one another is the epitome of motivation.

Ah! I could go on and on about this story but I would be in danger of slipping up and sharing something that might ruin the story! Just know that this is a whole new dimension for Chanel’s writing. There is hot lust, passion, suspense, intrigue, danger, and truth. As you read this story, you are taken on a movie premier worthy ride that will have you guessing at every corner. The plot twists are sometime shocking and the end is the best possible scenario, despite the fact I did not see it all coming! Take my advice and get this one. It is worth the click!
