The conclusion to the Fated series has quite a bit happening but gives the reader a happy ending for Tessa and Andrew, something I was content to watch unfold. In Fated to be Mine, there are a few things that I did not see coming, some new plot twists that added some more to the story. Some seemed to come out of nowhere and some flowed right along with what was happening. This book picks up right where the second one ends, with Tessa and Andrew separated and both hurting, wanting desperately to find answers and see if their happily ever after is going to happen.

In the first book, I found Tessa to be a woman who lacked in self confidence and gumption. This was a direct result from her childhood and despite my annoyance at her personality, the reasoning to her reactions was founded and understood. In this book, we begin to see a transformation in who Tessa is. We see a woman who is learning to be comfortable in her own skin. Her time with Andrew in London allowed for her to take a step back and learn to embrace who she is and what her life is like. Things begin to shift and her life begins to transform in ways that surprised her. Watching her grow in confidence and in love was a transformation the reader will appreciate.

New characters are introduced into the story and other characters are expanded to allow for more to take place in what is happening. We meet Michael, a young man who befriends Tessa from her building. They hit it off and become fast friends. We learn more about Tessa’s parents and step mother. I appreciated seeing the development of that theme in this book. It is obvious that there is so much happening there and we finally begin to understand where are the collective bitterness and heartache is coming from and what can be done about it. There were some shocking revelations in this book, some that I not prepared for. I feel like they could have been expanded a bit more but the timing and situation still allowed the reader to come to terms with what had happened in the past and what was happening now.

The romance between Andrew and Tessa develops even more in this story and begins to work past the flutters of new found romance and passion. They must learn to work through what has happened and find a way to make it all come together into something that will hopefully last. It is obvious that these two are meant to be together but there is more than attraction and fate that needs to be addressed for this to last in the long haul. When they are reunited, it is not all easy. There are hesitations and heartache to walk through together. I did appreciated that Tessa and Andrew both grew in their relationship and that is began to mature right along side Tessa’s transformation. It was a sweet romantic story of two people who are fated to be together, better together than apart.

The best part of this story for me was the transformation of who Tessa is and how that allowed for her to see things in a new way. The romance was sweet and her friendships were spot on but watching her take charge of her life and to begin to heal from past wounds allows the reader to better understand and admire who she is. She transforms from a wounded girl (and rightfully so) into a woman who is learning to be confident in her life and passionate about what she wants. Overall this story was a good conclusion  to the Fated series. I enjoyed seeing the different characters woven throughout the story and the tale of self determination and love being told.

We busy ourselves getting the kitchen back in order. I show him where the knives and cutting boards are as he rolls up his sleeves. My movements slow slightly as I stare at his newly exposed forearms. There’s something about a man wearing a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up that is insanely sexy. It’s such a simple thing really, not meant to be sexual at all, but the look of it is hotter than just about anything else on the planet. Okay, that may be a stretch but let’s face it, it’s hot.
