Chanel Cleeton has dipped her proverbial pen in the New Adult thriller ink and I am hoping this is not just a one time thing! I really liked Between Shadows. This books was full of movement. There was action, drama, excitement, and second chances. This book is fueled by adrenaline and it keeps going till the very end!

Everything about this story had me hooked. Chanel’s writing was brilliant, as always, and the plot flowed really well. The characters are fascinating, allowing the reader to watch and observe how they react and where they will end up. This story has no shortages of ups and downs, each plot twist adding to the ultimate thrilling conclusion. X is a tough female heroine in this story. She is a woman who has had to experience the harsh realities of life and her world. She longs to protect her sister and do what is right. I loved that this young woman was her own heroine. She could save herself. Yet in this story she learns that going it alone was not the way she was meant to be. When a ghost from her past returns there is a lot of drama and pain. I love watching these two characters work through what happened and their uneasy alliance that solidifies into so much more.

When the story progresses it feels like you are reading the plot to a high action assassin movie. There is an abundance of high energy that keeps the reader engaged and excited.
I hope with all my heart that there is more to come from Chanel’s thriller mind. I hope to see more of this world. Between Shadows is a fantastic NA thriller that will take you on a whole ride you never knew you needed!
