Sometimes, going into a story blind is a risk I am not always willing to take. I know what I like. But I also know that I love Berry’s writing and overall storytelling. So I took a dive in head first and was utterly shocked at the story and the feelings I had on the other end. This book was captivating! Like a real story that is heartbreakingly beautiful and surprisingly authentic and stunning. Whatever I had subconsciously anticipated, this was most certainly not it. Berry takes something I would normally turn away from in books and presents it in such a way that I was hooked. An Unforgivable Love Story takes a deeper look at love and explores both the beauty and consequences of that love. I will not go into details about what specifically happens because the surprise of what happens is the foundational focal point of the story. Just know that Berry takes her signature emotional and intriguing storytelling to a whole new level. There is romance, lust, passion, hope, and the raw ugliness that can only be found deep in the pit of love. The high moments are coinciding with the low moments in a way that is brilliant and heartfelt. The POVs and timeline create a story that will both shock and satisfy the reader in a way that I never really saw coming. This fresh take on a love story is both brutal and beautiful, showing people and situations entertained in such a way that you cannot help but be drawn into the drama and exciting passion of it all. I would highly recommend this story to be read without preconceived notions and enjoyed as a story that is unique and terribly beautiful. Do not miss this one!
