Lex Martin is back at it. It feels like it has been so long since we have had a new book from her and I can say that the wait was more than worth it! Shameless is fantastic. I loved everything about this book. It carries Lex’s signature emotional depth and gives the reader a beautiful and powerful love story to swoon for. This book is a spinoff of the Dearest Series, the books that introduced her to the literary world. In Shameless, we get to see Brady’s story. He was first introduced in Finding Dandelion and I could not be more excited to have his book!

As with every one of Lex’s books, there is a brilliant blend of lust, passion, romance, and heartfelt emotion throughout the entirety of the story. There is an abundance of heartache and a chance to find what these characters have been looking for. Lex put my heart in a blender and it was worth it all. This is a story of forgiveness and second chances. The characters are real and their stories draw the reader into what is happening. I loved getting to meet Katherine and she was perfect for Brady. Her personality is so fun. She is someone you want in your corner, a friend to stand with you through any storm. Her flair for life and determination is so endearing. I loved her humor and could not get enough of the natural banter between these two. Brady, in all his glory, is wonderful. He is responsible, caring, and kind, with a hint of bad boy thrown in. His dedication to family and determination to do right by his brother is admirable. I loved watching him evolve in this book, becoming a book boyfriend you want to fall in love with.

Reading this book in dual POVs allows the reader to understand the storm brewing in each character individually. It adds emotional depth and character development to the story. Being able to understand where they are both coming from made this book so much better. The constant push and pull plays out great and it adds drama and angst that is so wonderfully portrayed. I feel like it goes without saying, but just so everyone is clear, I loved this book. It is a wonderful spin off from the Dearest Series, and brings yet another brilliant work of fiction from the equally brilliant mind of Lex Martin, a woman who is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites! Shameless is not a story to be missed!
