AJ Pine has another winner! This woman can write a dayum good contemporary romance. This story may be a bit predictable in the grand scheme but she owns the story in such a way that you, nevertheless, become engrossed in what is happening and the growing love between Holly and Will. Six Month Rule is a story brimming with passion set in the fast paced world of the fashion industry. What more could you possibly want?!
Holly is an incredible character. This woman is full of personality, a woman who works hard and owns the ground she walks on. Her spunky attitude is what made this book amazing for me. She is determined to get what she wants and nothing will stand in her way. Her fashion sense is on point and I loved watching her achieve her goals. Will seems to be her opposite in the beginning, a man who is critical and living a life that is nowhere near as colorful. But these two compliment so well, giving the story a perfect chance to share a love story you cannot wait to read.
Family is an important part of this book, both those in the main character’s daily lives and those far away. I enjoyed seeing how Holly and Will need those people in their lives. They are better as a result of those they love and care for. It was great to see more of James and Brynn and the rest of the gang at the Kingston Ale House. Everyone is so interconnected and I enjoyed watching them embrace Will into the fold.
While you may know exactly what happens in a story like this one, don’t pass it up. Pine takes a story we all know and infuses it with a feisty heroine and a bewildered hero. She develops the emotion and passion in such a way that you are hooked from the beginning. This story is a technicolor tale in a world of grey. I cannot wait for more in the series!
