He’s her patient. She’s his doctor. They shouldn’t. But God, do they want to.
Camden Harris, the famously hot, hulk of a footballer is laid up in a London hospital. But his busted knee doesn’t stop him from running his well-practiced game on Indie Porter—his redheaded spitfire of a doctor. She’s not his type, not even close. But she could be the perfect distraction from the soul-crushing damage this injury could cost him.
Indie’s tired of her naivety putting a target on her back. As a gifted child, she’s let her education take the front seat her whole life. But a fling with a footballer like Camden might be just what she needs to grab life by the balls.
And he could be the perfect guy for the plan she’s been sitting on for over two years.
But when feelings make a final play, there’s no amount of medicine that can heal the damage to their hearts.

There is something about a good ole sports romance that just makes me smile. Challenge by Amy Daws is every cliché that I love about the sub-genre and she delivers exactly what this soccer loving girl wants. Soccer is my sport and I love when I find a soccer romance story that gets it right. This book is what I wanted! We have the sexy playboy sports star with a heart of gold, the subtly beautiful and quirky heroine, the passionate expectations that are shattered, and enough lust to keep the pages turning.
When a story that merges one of my passions in life with romance, you know it is going to be good. The writing in this story is well done. Everything I read was in line with what I wanted and Daws takes the story into something that has just enough originality to makes it fun to read, all the while hitting the highlights of what readers expect from a sports romance. Cam and Indie are brilliant together. These two are seemingly so different but they click very well. Indie is a refreshing young heroine. I loved everything about her. She is smart in a way that allows her naivety to shine through her character. She seemed to be a walking contradiction and watching her develop and grow in this book made me adore who she was. Add into the story Cam, the broken man trying to determine who he is and what he truly wants, you have a romance that is perfect. The secondary characters are all spot on in this book, adding depth to what is happening. I loved Cam’s family and Indie’s best friend Belle. These people are so well interconnected that it creates a fun environment for the main characters. All of this coupled with just the right amount of drama and angst creates a book that I enjoyed.
Daws is a new to me author and I will definitely be keeping her on the radar. Challenge is a book that is both a tad bit predictable in the best possible way but just what the doctor ordered. If you are a fan of sports romance, this book is a book to read. Indie and Cam’s story is a great blend of sweet, passionate, and renewing. Don’t miss it!
