Synopsis (from Goodreads)

What started out as a joke— seduce Coach Wilder—soon became a goal she had to score.

With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He’s a professional soccer player, America’s favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper.

• A face that makes girls weep – check.
• Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) – check.
• Enough confidence to shift the earth’s gravitational pull – double check.

Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits . Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. “Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you’ll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.”) But that just makes him all the more enticing…Besides, Kinsley’s already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished.

Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term “team bonding.”

Lynne’s Thoughts

I’ve left my rather long reviewing hiatus to brag on this incredible new adult novel by indie author R.S. Grey.  I’ve read all of her novels so far and have LOVED them all.  Each one has been so unique in story line but the same incredible writing in present throughout.  Scoring Wilder is a hilarious novel about a sassy soccer star who falls for her coach.  As a soccer player growing up, I can honestly say that Grey nailed the soccer world.  The team dynamics, the crazy schedules, tough practices, and even the player/coach dynamics were spot on.  All of this added a hugely realistic element to the novel.  The secondary characters like Becca, were really multi-dimensional and helped move the plot along especially in parts where the story could have lulled.  Our heroine, Kinsley, was one of the funniest characters I have read in a while.  She was fiery, fun, a good friend, and really mature for nineteen.  Then there was Liam.  Welp.  I’ve always had a thing for soccer players (who doesn’t), but wow.  He was the most perfect combination of protective, sweet, athletic, and fun.  I love reading stories where the man pursues the woman.  It is just the way it should be.  And boy, did Liam pursue her.  This book was hilarious, steamy, and had a solid plot throughout.  All the makings of a great NA romance!  Well done, Ms. Grey!  We at Typical Distractions cannot wait to see what you’ve got in store for us in the future!
