At the end of the first installment of the Wildcard serial, Ryder comes to surprise Scarlett and what he finds rips him apart. She answers the door with another man wrapped around her, leaving Ryder confused and angry. And from the first installment it would be easy to guess that an emotionally hurt and unstable Ryder is not a good one.
Once Scarlett finally comes to explain some things to Ryder about what he perceived, we learn that Jake’s father is a scumbag and trying to get something out of the relationship between Scarlett and Ryder. He saw them in the tabloids and decides to make some easy money. But not all is as it seems. We see that there is a secret that Scarlett is determined to hide, to protect herself and Jake.
Wildcard Vol. 2 picks up right where the first one ended. There is the same amount of hot and sexy but a whole other level was added to the mix. It caught me off guard. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the veering off into suspense was something I really appreciated. It added a whole new level I wasn’t expecting and I am hooked even more than before. I cannot wait to read the third installment. My curiosity is not going to be sated till I know what Scarlett is hiding and how things go with her ex.
If you haven’t read this serial, then jump on board. Missy delivers on everything you have come to expect from her writing. It is fun, sexy, sweet and suspenseful! If you are looking for a weekend read then make sure to check this story out.
