Outside of Titan Group, there are few people that Roman Hart would die for. He’s a soldier, a protector, and he’s haunted that one of the people he should’ve been able to protect didn’t let him. That was years ago, and now a hardened heart and a cocky attitude are his impenetrable shields, until one woman—one challenge—drives him to distraction.

On the outside, Beth Tourne has it all. Luxury car, gorgeous condo, and a job partying with the rich and famous. It’s a plush CIA cover, but she wants more. Anything for an adrenaline rush that can override her guilty numbness and let her forget the tragedy she never saw coming.

Their scars make them perfect operatives. Their mirrored pasts give them deep, wounded reasons to stay alone. But the more they ignore the tension, the more vulnerable they become. Survival means trust. In one another, behind closed doors, and on the job. The only way they’re making it out alive is if they find peace while waging a war.

Tina's Thoughts... A review for youThe more I read the Titan series, the deeper I get. This series is so much fun, full of drama, romance, suspense, and action. Each and every scene plays out like a movie montage and I can never seem to pull myself out until the very last page. And, no surprise here, Cristin Harber has done it again with the latest book! HART ATTACK is the story of Roman and Beth. These two have been interacting ever since Nicola, Roman’s sister, arrived back into their lives a few books back in the Titan series. Their chemistry has been steadily growing and has come to a point that something has to give. Both characters carry heavy burdens from their past and as a result, it is hard to be free to love and pursue a new relationship in the future. Safe and distant is better, and all the emotions swirling between them is enough to make them run in opposite directions for their own perceived sanity and safety. But these two are in too deep and cannot possibly separate now so they must learn to move forward slowly and take baby steps into their future, learning to overcome each challenge as it unfolds.

Roman is one strong and intimidating character. He is full of life and humor but there is a lingering darkness from what has happened in his life. He is a master of the one night stands and giving a woman what she needs in the bedroom, but anything beyond that is not on the radar. He has been abandoned by those he loves and as a result, he cannot trust that things will last. Beth has loved deeply and lost horrifically. When her past comes to light, her internal struggle and hesitation makes perfectly logical sense. Yet Beth and Roman are better together than they could ever be apart. They awaken something inside each other that is foreign and terrifying yet perfect.

When their work lives cross paths, all bets are off and the passion explodes. Beth, working undercover for the CIA, enlists the help of Roman as her “bodyguard” for a mission overseas. So many truths come to light during their time together and they attempt to make a go at whatever is brewing between them, attempting to balance their cover and growing attraction. At times I wanted to take Beth by the shoulders and shake some sense into her. She was hot and then cold. Her constant swinging emotions would leave anyone confused but Roman stands by till the storm passes and steps into her orbit. Beth is such a strong female character. She is continually fighting the demons of her past and the wars of her present. Being a female operative in the CIA is not an easy task and she is minimalized and stereotyped as an alluring play thing instead of an intelligent operative. When she finally has a chance to jump in and prove her worth in a new operation, everything is off kilter and confusing. Her instincts keep telling her something else is going on but she continues to find no answers. The deeper she gets the more questions arise and the more intense the storyline becomes!

Roman finally comes to the basic conclusion that he wants Beth and no one else can have her. It is not necessarily a conclusion made in everlasting love but one of alpha tendencies with the room to grow, which it does. Roman is the sexy and rough around the edges, exactly what Beth needs to be right again. We see the whole Titan gang throughout the story and a continuation of each story line from each book in the series. I loved seeing all my favorites and the camaraderie that easily flows within this groups of colleagues and friends. HART ATTACK is everything I have come to expect from Cristin Harber’s writing. It is intense, sexy, raw, and full of suspense and action. I loved every minute of it and I am counting down the days till we get more of this series! Make sure to check out Beth and Roman’s story today!
