Nichole Chase has been on my radar ever since a chance encounter years ago with Suddenly Royal. After reading about Sam and Prince Yummy, I have stalked patiently until a new book is released. When I noticed a little book called THE ACCIDENTAL ASSASSIN was in the works, I was trying to wait patiently, checking back for more information and release dates. Well world, it is finally here and it is everything I wanted and everything I have come to expect from the talented and fabulous Nichole Chase.

THE ACCIDENTAL ASSASSIN follows the interactions and tale of two seemingly unlikely allies, Owen, the fearsome British assassin, and Ava, the American woman living a dull and uneventful life. After a terrible accident, Ava and Owen are forced to run for their lives and attempting to understand what is happening. Chaos has ensued and nothing seems to make sense. Friends can no longer be trusted and alliances are formed with unlikely partners. It is life and death, and Ava and Owen must fight for survival.

The premise of this book was fun and Nichole takes the story to another level. Each character we meet in the story is so well written. I feel in love with Owen, admired Ava, wanted to go shipping with Mavis, and learn genius skills from Kenny. There are a number of incredible characters interwoven throughout the story and this adds so much depth! THE ACCIDENTAL ASSASSIN is written in dual POVs, both Ava and Owen, which allows us to see the situations and danger from two very different perspectives. It allows us to see a calculating view that is shrewd and enlightening, as well as a realistic and emotional view from someone who just wants to make it out alive. Both POVs allow the reader a deeper immersion into the story!

Ava is wonderful! She is sweet, kind, and seeking to be adventurous in her life in London. She is determined to experience everything life has to offer her. Needless to say, when danger envelops her every step, we see the emergence of a realistic character, a woman who is terrified of what the unknown holds but determined to fight for what she knows. She is strong, independent, and powerful; able to approach situations in a way different from her book counterparts.

Owen. Where do I begin? I would turn assassin for him. He is controlled, focused, and skilled but when he meets Ava, his heart is infused with life, love, and laughter, and BAM, we have the epitome of sexy assassin. He is a man that exudes confidence and shrewd intelligence in moments of terror and chaos. When his heart is softened and love takes hold, he transforms into something more, a man who will die to protect but also fight to live with the one he loves.

The action and adventure in this story is well developed and exciting. It reads like you are watching it unfold on the movie screen. There is a balance between what is happening and how the characters process that allows the reader to connect to the story and mentally live in the moment.  I died when I saw the brief reference to some of my favorites from the Suddenly Series. And when The Doctor Who references appeared, I smiled and high-fived the inner Whovian! Well played!

The romance is perfect. We see the struggle between two different characters and what they see as the meaning of love. Watching them fall in love was beautiful. It was in the midst of chaos that their love blooms, creating more of a reason to fight the unknown. It was equal parts sweet with a fabulous helping of sexy. THE ACCIDENTAL ASSASSIN is an incredible story of unlikely love that shoots you straight in the heart. It will leave you smiling and content, hoping perhaps for a spin off with glimpses of Ava and Owen. This tale is the perfect coupling of adventure, romance, and suspense that will hook you and pull you under! Fans of Nichole Chase will not be disappointed.
