Tag Chaser:

Paisley Bronson is a 27 year old successful advertising professional, but the most exciting part of her life happens outside of work. Claiming the life of a tag chaser toward the end of her college career has taught her one thing – never get too close. She has enjoyed her dating lifestyle, but when her best friend makes a bet that she won’t ever be able to date a normal guy, her competitive nature takes control and she vows to change the game.

When Paisley meets the incredibly handsome and practically perfect Corbin Ray, she begins to think keeping her word might be easier than she thought. But when an accidental discovery reveals that Corbin is in the Army, she knows she must run the other way and never look back. Although it kills her, she aims to move on and look for a new prospect.

There’s just one small problem.

Paisley’s been assigned a new client at work, and his name is Corbin Ray.

Will Paisley and Corbin give in to the chemistry between them, or will their past and present complications keep them apart?

Immerse yourself in this fun and irresistibly naughty game of cat and mouse.

Song Chaser:

For more than a year, Tanner West has tried to shake his feelings for his long time best friend, Paisley Bronson. She was the perfect girl to fit the lyrics in all his favorite songs – the girl he had always wanted. When she fell in love with another man before Tanner had the chance to tell her how he felt, he was left with no resolve to find love again. Burying himself in school and easy girls has become his new lifestyle, but when Kellee Brooks shows up at his favorite bar, he begins to think there may be another verse to his song, after all.

Kellee Brooks moved to New York City for one thing: escape. Growing up in a small town where her entire life was planned out for her, she’s desperate to break free and find herself without following the same path as her mom. Kellee thought working at the local dive bar would mean more money for school, but when she meets the smoldering, scarred honey eyes of Tanner West, she finds there’s much more hiding in the smoky building than just a few tips.

With Paisley still haunting Tanner and Kellee vowing to save anyone the trouble of loving her, will the pain and fear keep them apart – or will they find a way to rewrite their song together?

Break free with this heartbreaking story of letting go and letting love in.

Straight No Chaser:

Tanner West has been through a lot when it comes to his best friend, Paisley Bronson. From being there through her dark past to falling in love with her while she fell for someone else, their story is far from perfect. After Tanner found his true love in Kellee Brooks, things began to fall into place. But when Paisley calls Tanner with surprising news, asking him to step up to the best friend plate once again, he must decide if he’s up for the challenge.

This is a short story bromance and should be read after Tag Chaser and Song Chaser.

Tina's Thoughts... A review for you

Tag Chaser (The Chaser Series #1)

Tag Chaser is a story about a woman with emotional woundings in her past, a woman who must choose between what is safe and comfortable or what is passionate and terrifying. When the story begins, we meet Paisley, a 27 year old “tag chaser.” She dates military men for the short time they are around and then breaks it off when things get to serious or they go for deployment or move to another city. It is the perfect set up for Paisley. She gets what she wants and the illusion of a relationship and emotional connection without the pain and trust of a true relationship. One night, her best friend, McKenzie, decides to make a wager with Paisley: she has to give up her tag chasing days and enter into a relationship with someone who will stick around or share the secret of why she is a tag chaser. They accept the terms of the short lived bet and that night, Paisley meets Corbin, a sexy man who rescues her in the bar. They hit it off and Paisley thinks this is an easy bet to win and making a connection with someone isn’t too hard. Lo and behold, he is an Army man. Can she resist him or has she finally found the man who will change her life in the last place she thought she would ever find one?

This story was an emotional roller coaster and a bit raw at points. Our heroine, Paisley, has been hurt by the one man in her life she expected love and perfection from: her father. She always thought her parents had a perfect relationship growing up and when their relationship ended, it cracked the foundation of what Paisley knew about life and love. As a result, she refuses to fall hard and trust a man. If her father, the perfect man, cheated on her mother, then what hope is there of finding true love? Paisley is an interesting character. She is a go getter in so many ways, but the ways that truly count are the areas that she holds back on. Tag Chaser is a story that allows her to grow into a woman, leaving behind her old ways and finding new challenges and love in the process.

Corbin is the perfect match for Paisley. He is everything she is attracted to in a beautiful sexy package. When they first meet there is an instant connection that neither one can deny. Corbin is kind, sweet, protective, intelligent, loving, and determined. His past has not been easy and his dreams are is primary focus. When these two start in their relationship, everything is different this time around, and that alone is enough to make Paisley run. On top of her fears and insecurities, someone in Paisley’s life throws a curve ball and she must decide what she truly wants and what she will do to get it.

Paisley was a character that I loved and hated. Her back and forth drove me crazy but her determination was fierce. Watching her struggle was hard but as the reader you continue to cheer her on to make the right choice and live life without fear and lack of trust. Corbin’s pursuit of Paisley was one of my favorite parts of this story. He was strong and commanding yet gentle when he needed to be. No matter how many times Paisley ran, he was waiting and quietly pursuing her, wooing her into loving submission.

My favorite theme from this story was the choice and encouragement to choose what you want and anything else  be dammed. We see two people living their lives and making choices, sometimes ones that push them closer to their dreams and other times ones that are not. I loved how Corbin was making his future happen when it would have been easier to leave it all behind. His inspiration allowed Paisley to think of her dreams and open her mind and heart to what a life without fear, full of passion and hope, would look like.

This book is full of ups and downs, an emotional roller coaster to say the least. There are times I fell in love and other times I wanted to shake some sense into these characters. If you enjoy a love story that will make the characters work for their happily ever after, then look no further! Kandi Stener writes a sweet and sexy love story that will keep you on your toes, wondering what will happen to our two main lovebirds.

Song Chaser (The Chaser Series #2)

Song Chaser is a story of healing and second chances. This story focuses on Tanner West, Paisley’s best friend. After professing his love and attempting to win Paisley and being unsuccessful, Tanner is a man on a path of emotional destruction, trying to keep his head down and put his broken heart together. He meets Kellee Brooks, the perfect woman for him if his heart wasn’t attached to someone else. As their paths cross and connections are made, we see two broken people who must learn to trust and love again. But with broken people comes heartache and broken promises, some of which could cause the end of new found hope.

Song Chaser is most definitely my favorite in this series. In the first book, I really hated Tanner for trying to sabotage Paisley and Corbin. His attitude and interference made me loathe him and his sneaky ways. So when I began reading this book, I was a little nervous about it. Instead I read a story that broke my heart and put the pieces back together again. Tanner and Kellee are perfect for each other, broken pieces and all.

These two main characters are well written and emotional. Tanner was in love with his best friend for years and when he finally told her, she chose another man. His heart has been broken in such a deep way and his life changed from his confession. Tanner is self destructive and the only thing keeping him going is his job at the hospital and his alcohol. Kellee is a strong young woman who has left the world she knew behind to follow her dreams. She is strong, beautiful, kind, and dealing with a lot of emotional baggage. These two have the potential to be something great or to blow up in something messy and tragically.

This book was such a good follow up to Tag Chaser. It shows a broken man who lost the woman he loved. In so many books we see him fall quickly in love with someone else who was perfect for him and his heart is whole again half way through the story. That is not the case here. His attachment to Paisley is the thing that will ruin him. He begins to fall for Kellee but continues to choose his friendship with Paisley over Kellee, a move that causes so much friction and pain. This story was a sad story of learning to let go and realize what is right in front of you was what you wanted, needed, and loved all along. It does not negate the feelings from before but shows how healing can happen and second chances will bloom.

I loved the theme of family in this story. Both characters have some strong family members who love and encourage them. Instead of the all knowing best friend, we have Mee Ma and Tanner’s parents. The relationships are sweet and supportive, adding more to this story.

Tanner and Kellee’s story is by far my favorite in the series! It seems to be all over the place emotionally, which really works with what is happening. It is sad, happy, and heart breaking. It felt real and perfect.

about the author

Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.
