Stay With Me took me by surprise. I enjoyed Wait for Me and I was excited to see what happened in the conclusion of Briley and Cooper’s story. I fell in love with their blooming love story in the first book of the Lovestruck series and I was wondering where the mysteries would take the reader in the end. Truth be told, I was not anticipating half of what happened in this book, and that is something I love. Stay With Me continues the growing romance and epic love between Briley and Cooper, giving the reader a beautiful story to embrace, all while weaving a mystery into the story that I never saw coming. I will be pretty vague in this review to keep from spoiling anything but know that this book is a surprising and a well played ending for these two.
In this book, I feel like the reader is able to better connect with Briley and Cooper’s relationship. These two are so in love that it is sickly sweet, but not in a bad way. They have such a foundation of friendship and past experiences that their new found love is bound to explode in the best way. It accelerates quickly and everything fits into place. When we begin to see the mystery of Briley’s life unfold, a mystery that no one saw coming, it takes the story in a completely new direction. Eleanor Green does a fantastic job of adding the drama and suspense to a love story. Ah! I want to babble about the mysterious elements and the things you don’t see coming, but the surprise factor is half the fun! Just know that Eleanor does a great job of taking this story to the next level and leaving the reader reeling from the revelations these two discover.
Having this book in dual POVs is the best decision for this book. There are so many nooks to discover and emotions to explore that it is vital to the story to understand where both Cooper and Briley are coming from. Seeing what they both are thinking and experiencing in different moments throughout the book is what makes this tale so great. The author does a great job of exploring that emotion, both the head in the clouds love and the heart shattering moments. Being able to explore the thought processes and hearts of these two main characters, coupled with the mystery we see unfolding, those aspects bring this story to life in a vibrant way.
This book was a surprise and I loved every second of it. Maybe I was sneaking some chapters at work…. But when that final sentence was read, despite the fact I wanted SO much more, I was content. Eleanor Green gives fans what they want in the pages of Stay With Me and takes us on a journey we didn’t even know we were waiting for. Briley and Cooper’s story will expand your heart and leave you breathless!
