Corin Connelly left her past far behind her in New York City. Along with her mother and an ex-boyfriend who had no plans to let her go. Starting over in college in California seemed like a vacation in paradise compared to her old life, and if anyone needs a fresh start, it’s her. But her new roommate has a life-threatening secret, and soon paradise becomes even more intense than New York. When she loses a bet to the university soccer team’s star goalie, Skylar Martin, he claims a prize she didn’t ever plan to give him.

A weekend in her hometown.

Skylar Martin is used to getting what he wants. Growing up in a world of privilege has made his life easy, which is exactly how he likes his women. But when a feisty redhead tells him no, he becomes determined to figure out what makes her tick. And what she’s hiding.

Spending a weekend together will change everything they think they know about each other. The closer they become, the harder it is to hide the mistakes they thought they’d left behind–mistakes that will stand in the way of what they both want.

Corin and Skylar will have to stop hiding from the darkness in their pasts if they want a bright future together. But how can you love someone if you can’t forgive them?

tina thoughts a review for you

Caisey Quinn is a great  author and Give Me You is a testament to that fact. What could have been a standard New Adult, angsty romance, turned into something more, that developed a solid foundation for a future I never saw coming. I was surprised at where Caisey took the story, but when I finished and took a step back, I saw the whole picture and loved it even more.

If you have read Keep Me Still, you will recognize these two main characters and quite a few of the others we meet. You do not have to read Keep Me Still (I have not yet read it but I will very soon now!) That fact will not keep you from enjoying this book.  The story starts as any typical college story would. Boy and girl meet at a party, guy comes on to girl and she rejects him. They have a flirting standoff and soon become friends. But then the story evolves from what you expect. You read the book in dual POVs, which allows the reader to understand everything that is happening and the motives behind the actions and reactions. We have two very (seemingly) different characters who clash at so many turns, but they connect in a real way. Corin and Skylar seem to be night and day but they both long to be loved, accepted, and a part of something more.

I will admit that I thought I predicted the way the story would go but instead it took a different direction, one that was undoubtedly better than what I thought would happen. Corin and Skylar are two people that work. They are both driven and long for their dreams. Watching them both individually and together gives the reader a lovely story to explore. I was a bit shocked at the twist in the end but somehow that new storyline made the ending even better. We watch these two mature and fight for what they want, something that I loved to read about. This is a story that stands out from the rest of the genre and one you will not want to miss!
