Isla Madden Mills is still a relatively new author to me and one that I am quickly growing to love. Fake Fiancee is one of those books, a book that you devour from the beginning, swooning and loving from the first page. Max and Sunny are two great characters. Their chemistry is fantastic and feels so tangible. I loved that fate brought them together and Isla introduces these two in a very intriguing way, one that adds a layer of heart and emotion to their relationship. This book deals with heavy material without making the story drag. Max and Sunny have not had picture perfect lives, but we meet two people who have come out on the other end with goals and fierce determination.
The writing in this book is awesome. It flows well. You jump right in, hooked from the first encounter, and I was dying to see all the dots connect. You get a great sports romance story with a leading man that is a blend of alpha sports god and swoonish softie. He takes all the book boyfriend qualities we know and love, presented in a wonderful book boyfriend package. Max is a growing a character and that allows us to love him despite his faults. Sunny seems to be everything he has never wanted before but she snags his attention. Her snark and well written personality make for someone I absolutely adored. Put them together with a plot that
might seems somewhat predictable and you cannot help but still love it all. Isla pumps this story with details that refresh the fake relationship theme and it grabs you till the end. I loved this one!
