Some people wait decades to meet their soul mate. Courtney Kaufman suspects she met hers in high school—only to lose him at seventeen. Since then, Courtney’s social life has been a series of meaningless encounters, though she’s made a few close friends along the way. Especially her roommate, Max Cooper, who oozes damaged bad-boy vibes from every pore.

Max knows about feeling lost and trying to move beyond the pain—he’s been on his own since he was sixteen. Now it’s time to find out if he can ever go home again, and Courtney’s the only one he trusts to go with him. But the trip to Providence could change everything…because the more time he spends with Courtney, the harder it is to reconcile what he wants and what he thinks he deserves.

It started out so simple. One misfit helping another. Now Max will do anything to show Courtney that for every heart that’s ever been broken, there’s another that can make it complete.

Tina's Thoughts... A review for you

Ann Aguirre has done it again! THE SHAPE OF MY HEART is the final book in the 2B Trilogy and finishes a fabulous series off with a BANG! This book is the prefect conclusion to this great new adult trilogy. I was sad to see the end but so happy with the series and the brilliance of Ann Aguirre’s writing to take new themes and story lines to new levels! This series has made me a fan of Ann’s for life.

The final book in the trilogy focuses on Max and Courtney. Max is one of the original roommates when they all moved in together in the first book and Courtney moved in when Lauren left. They have become the best of friends, a type of friendship that runs deep and strong. These two are so much fun! Their banter is so well timed and hilarious. I want to step into this book and be their friend. What I wouldn’t give to hang out at their apartment with Angus making breakfast, listening to clever conversation. These people that we have met in this trilogy are some of the most incredible and well written, realistic characters that I want to come to life and be friends with. They are written in such a way that they come alive and change your life for the better.

I loved finally getting into Max’s mind. He has been constant in the whole series and I couldn’t wait to learn more about him. He is seen as a player and smooth operator but it always seemed like there was more to who he was. When we finally have the chance to dive into Max’s world, it is a heavy affair. His past and vulnerability makes you want to hold him, yet he still poses that strength and dependability. He had layers of guilt and hurt all wrapped in a vulnerable package. His character alone is the perfect foundation for a book. But when you add Courtney, it is like genius literally explodes on the page.

Courtney… Where do I even begin? She is unique, interesting, clever, refreshing and the perfect companion for Max. They are best friends; two people who are better together and fighting side by side against the world’s judgement and misconceptions. Her sass made me smile and her clever banter was one of my favorite parts of this book! She was so different from any heroine I have ever read. Her strength is not pronounced in a flashy way, yet she is a determined woman, a woman who will fight to make her own way and get what she wants out of life.

When the sparks fly between Max and Courtney, I knew that we were in for a treat! Their chemistry is powerful, made even stronger by a deep understanding, friendship, and respect between two people. They have both seen such pain and sorrow in life. They have learned to pull themselves up and move on, living with the cracks in their heart. When they come together, it is like those cracks are filled. They will never go away but they are no longer raw and hurting.

This story is a tale full of second chances and reconciliation. A story of friendship, love, life, and passion. In a world of chaos, sometimes the craziest things make sense. Max and Courtney are my favorite couple in this trilogy of great romances. There is something unique and wonderful about their love. Don’t miss this fabulous book and series! You will literally laugh out loud at their antics and have a smug smile in their romance. Hats off to you, Mrs. Ann Aguirre! I applaud your fabulous series and characters while anxiously waiting for what is next!
